Calcutta

A Calcutta will be held during the Meet and Greet, Cocktail Party on Friday, October 8, 2010.

A Calcutta is a fun event where participants get to bid on groups of competing dogs in an auction. If you are successful in bidding for a group, and one or more dogs in that group places at the National, you receive a share of the proceeds raised by the auction.

The dog groupings will be posted to this page within 72 hours of the posting of the running order. This will give participants the opportunity to think about which dog groupings they wish to bid on before the auction.

The Calcutta funds will be divided as follow:

The successful bidder on the group of dogs which contains the winner of the 2010 National receives 45% of the funds raised in the Calcutta.

The successful bidder on the group of dogs which contains the 2nd place receives 25% of the funds raised in the Calcutta.

The successful bidder on the group of dogs which contains the 3rd place receives 20% of the funds raised in the Calcutta.

The successful bidder on the group of dogs which contains the 4th place receives 10% of the funds raised in the Calcutta.

100% of the funds raised in the Calcutta are expected to be distributed to the participants.

The opening minimum bid for a group is $50. If a group with a placing dog does not receive a minimum bid, the proceeds attributable to that placement remain with the hosting club.
